ToggleGoogle Reviews QR Code: Free Generator and Complete Guide for Hyderabad Businesses
A Google reviews QR code is a code that opens your business’s Google review box the moment a customer scans it. You can get Google’s own QR free from your Business Profile (Read reviews → Get more reviews) or make a print-ready poster below in English, Telugu, Hindi or Urdu. Put it where customers pay or finish, print it at least 5 cm wide for a counter, and never offer anything in return for a review.
- Free, no sign-up
- Works with Google’s official review link
- Telugu · Hindi · Urdu · English
- Counter poster, table tent, WhatsApp size
- Checks your link and wording against Google’s rules

Google Reviews QR Code: Quick Answers
| Question | Short answer |
|---|---|
| What is a Google reviews QR code? | A printed or digital QR code that opens your business's Google review box when a customer scans it with a phone camera. |
| Is it free? | Yes. Google gives every Business Profile owner a free review link and QR code, and the generator on this page is free with no sign-up. |
| Where do I get it from Google? | Business Profile on a computer → Read reviews → Get more reviews → right-click the QR → Save image as. |
| Can I make it on my phone? | Google's own QR is desktop-only for now. On a phone, copy the review link from Get more reviews and paste it into the generator above. |
| Does it expire? | A static QR code never expires. It stops working only if the link inside changes, the profile is removed, or you used a paid 'dynamic' QR service and stopped paying. |
| Best link to use? | The g.page/r/…/review link or a writereview?placeid= link. Maps share links (maps.app.goo.gl) open the listing, not the review box. |
| Best print size? | At least 1 cm of QR width for every 10 cm of scanning distance. For a billing counter, 5–6 cm; on a wall 1 m away, 10 cm. |
| Can I offer a discount for a review? | No. Google bans any incentive for reviews, including discounts, free items and lucky draws. |
| Can the poster be in Telugu? | Yes. The generator makes Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, English and English + Telugu posters. |
| How many reviews do I need? | Enough to match the top three businesses in your category and area on Google Maps, then a steady flow every month. |
Free Google Reviews QR Code Generator (Poster, Table Tent and WhatsApp Size)
Paste your review link, add your business name, pick a language and layout, and download a print-ready PNG. Everything runs in your browser; we do not store your link. The tool also warns you if the link opens Google Maps instead of the review box, or if your own headline breaks Google’s review rules.
Paste your review link to create your QR code.
Tip: make one QR code per branch. A biryani chain with outlets in Kukatpally and Tolichowki needs two different review links, or every review lands on one outlet.
What Is a Google Reviews QR Code and How Does It Work?
A Google reviews QR code is a square barcode that stores one link: the review link of your Google Business Profile. When a customer points a phone camera at it, the phone offers to open that link, and Google shows your business name with five empty stars and a text box. The customer picks a rating, writes a line if they want, and posts. No app download, no searching for your name on Maps, no scrolling to find “Write a review”.
That shortcut is the whole point. Most happy customers are willing to review but give up when it takes more than a few taps. Removing the search step is why businesses that display a review QR code at the right moment usually collect reviews faster than those that only say “please review us on Google”.
What happens when a customer scans it
- Scan: the phone camera reads the code and shows the link.
- Open: Google opens the review box for your exact business and branch.
- Sign in: the customer needs to be signed in to a Google account (most Android users already are).
- Rate and write: they choose 1–5 stars and can add text and photos.
- Publish: Google checks the review and it appears on your profile in Search and Maps, usually within minutes, sometimes later.
Google's own QR code vs a generator like this one
Both contain the same kind of link, so both lead to the same review box. Google’s QR is a plain black code with nothing around it. A generator adds what a plain code lacks: your business name, a headline in your customers’ language, a size made for a counter or table, and a check that the link is the right one. Use whichever you prefer. The link inside is what matters.
How to Get Your Google Review QR Code from Google Business Profile
There are three reliable ways. Use the first if you have a computer; use the second on a phone; use the third if you manage many branches or the Business Profile menu looks different for you.
Method 1: Google's official QR code (computer)
- Open your Business Profile on a computer. Sign in to the Google account that manages the business and go to business.google.com, or search your business name on Google while signed in.
- Select Read reviews. Choose Read reviews on your profile panel to open the review manager.
- Select Get more reviews. Google shows a pop-up with your short review link and a QR code.
- Copy the link and save the QR. Select Copy to copy the review link. To save Google's QR, right-click it and choose Save image as.
- Test before you print. Scan the QR with an Android phone and an iPhone that are signed in to Google. Both should open the star-rating box for the correct branch.
Method 2: On your phone (link first, then this generator)
- Open the Google Maps app or search your business name in the Google app while signed in as the owner.
- Tap your profile, then Ask for reviews or Get more reviews (the label varies by app version).
- Tap Copy link or share it to yourself on WhatsApp.
- Paste it into the generator above, choose Telugu or English, and download the PNG.
If you do not see these buttons, the Google account you are using is probably not an owner or manager of the profile. Ask whoever set it up to add you as a manager.
Method 3: Build the link from your Place ID
Every place on Google Maps has a Place ID, a code that usually starts with ChIJ. Find yours with Google’s free Place ID Finder (on the Google Maps Platform developer site), search your business, and copy the ID. Then either paste the ID straight into the generator, or build the link yourself:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID
This is useful for agencies and chains: one spreadsheet of Place IDs gives you a review link for every outlet, without logging in to each profile.
Method 4: Canva or your designer
If you already design menus or bills in Canva, download the Plain QR layout from our generator (1000 × 1000 px with a safe white border) and drop it into your design. Keep it dark on a light background and do not stretch it. Canva’s own QR app also works if you paste the same review link, but scan-test the final print either way.
Which Google Review Link Should Your QR Code Contain?
Most “my review QR is not working” problems come from the wrong link inside the code. Here is what each common link type does when scanned.
| Link inside the QR | Customer lands on | Verdict | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| g.page/r/…/review | Review box | Best | Official short link from Get more reviews. |
| search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=… | Review box | Best | Built from a Place ID; good for chains and agencies. |
| maps.app.goo.gl/… (Maps share link) | Maps listing | Avoid | Customer must find “Write a review” themselves; many give up. |
| g.page/yourname or g.co/kgs/… | Profile page | Avoid | Opens the profile, not the review form. |
| google.com/maps/place/… | Maps listing | Avoid | Long link = dense QR that is harder to scan. |
| Your own short link (yoursite.com/review) | Whatever it redirects to | OK if direct | Useful for counting scans; must redirect straight to Google with no rating question in between. |
| Paid ‘masked’ or ‘smart’ review QR | A rating screen first | Risky | Often filters unhappy customers away from Google (review gating). |
How to check a QR code you already printed
Scan it with a phone and look at the link the camera shows before you tap. If it contains /review or writereview, you are fine. If it starts with maps.app.goo.gl, replace the code the next time you reprint. Also scan from a phone that is not signed in to your own business account, because owners sometimes see a different screen.
Where to Place Your Google Review QR Code: Hyderabad Business Playbook
The best place is wherever the customer has just finished and has a free hand: the billing counter, the table after the bill, the delivery handover. A QR code on the entrance door is seen by people who have not experienced anything yet, so it collects far fewer reviews.
| Business type | Best physical spots | Best moment to point to it |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurants, biryani houses, cafés | Bill folder, table tent, takeaway bag sticker, delivery bag insert | When the bill is paid; for delivery, a WhatsApp message 1–2 hours after the order arrives |
| Clinics, dental, diagnostics | Billing counter, report envelope, discharge file | After consultation or when reports are collected; never in the waiting area before care |
| Salons and spas | Billing counter stand, appointment card | At payment, or a WhatsApp message the same evening |
| Gyms and yoga studios | Exit door, reception desk | After a new member’s first 2–4 weeks, not on day one |
| Coaching centres and schools | Parent meeting desk, fee receipt, admission kit | Ask parents after results or a term, not students under 18 |
| Retail and textiles (Begum Bazaar, Ameerpet, Koti) | Billing counter, carry bag, invoice | At billing, especially during festival rush when footfall is high |
| Real estate site offices | Site office desk, possession kit | After handover or a completed site visit experience |
| Hotels, PGs, service apartments | Room key sleeve, checkout desk, room card | At checkout |
| Car and bike service centres | Delivery desk, job card, key tag | When the vehicle is handed back |
| Home services (AC, pest control, interiors) | Technician ID card, invoice PDF, WhatsApp | When the job is signed off |
Digital places that also work
- WhatsApp: send the link (not an image of the QR) after the service; people cannot scan a code on the same phone they are reading it on.
- Invoice and receipt PDFs: add the Plain QR near the total, plus the clickable link.
- Email signature and thank-you emails for B2B and professional services in HITEC City and the Financial District.
- Your website’s contact and thank-you pages, so enquiries that turn into customers can find the link later.
- Instagram highlights and WhatsApp status using the square layout.
Google Review QR Code Size, Design and Printing in Hyderabad
What size should the QR code be?
A dependable rule is 1 cm of QR width for every 10 cm of scanning distance, measured on the square code alone, not the whole poster. Cheaper phones and dim shop lighting need the upper end of each range.
| Where it goes | Typical scan distance | Minimum QR width | Layout to download |
|---|---|---|---|
| Receipt, bill book, business card | 20–40 cm | 2.5–3 cm | Only the Plain QR; add the short link as text |
| Counter stand or table tent | 40–70 cm | 5–7 cm | Counter poster (A5) or Table tent |
| Wall poster beside billing | About 1 m | 10 cm | Counter poster printed A4 |
| Glass door or window | About 2 m | 20 cm | Counter poster printed A3; matte vinyl |
| Standee, flex or event banner | 3 m or more | 30 cm or more | Plain QR placed by your printer |
Seven design rules that keep it scannable
- Dark code on a light background. Inverted codes (white on dark) fail on some phones.
- Keep the white border (quiet zone). Our downloads include it; do not crop it off.
- No stretching. Resize corner to corner only.
- Tell people what it does. A code with no words around it gets ignored. Our headline does this for you.
- One QR per surface. A UPI QR and a review QR side by side confuse customers at the counter; separate them or label both clearly.
- Matte, not glossy. Shop LED lights reflect off gloss lamination and stop the camera focusing.
- Keep it clean and flat. Curved surfaces, folds, grease and scratches break codes; restaurants should replace table tents every few months.
Typical printing costs in Hyderabad
These are indicative ranges we see from print shops in Chikkadpally, Koti, Abids, Ameerpet and online printers in September 2026. Small runs cost more per piece; always ask for a proof.
| Item | Typical price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Laminated paper print (A5/A4) | ₹20–₹80 each | Quick start; replace every few months |
| Vinyl sticker, 4×4 to 6×6 inch | ₹30–₹150 each | Counters, doors, delivery bags |
| Table tent cards | ₹30–₹90 each (more for small runs) | Restaurants and cafés |
| Acrylic table standee, A6/A5 | ₹250–₹700 each | Billing counters in clinics, salons, showrooms |
| Acrylic standee with NFC chip | ₹500–₹1,500 each | Premium counters; tap or scan |
| PVC card or key tag with QR | ₹15–₹60 each | Hotels, service centres, technicians |
| Flex banner 2×3 ft | ₹150–₹450 | Events, site offices, exhibitions |
Print checklist before you order
Before you send the file
- Scan the downloaded PNG on screen with two phones and confirm the right branch opens.
- Check the business name spelling, especially in Telugu, Hindi or Urdu.
- Decide the finished size using the table above.
File settings to give the printer
- Send the PNG as it downloaded; do not screenshot it or send it through WhatsApp as a photo (WhatsApp compresses images).
- Ask for 300 dpi output: our 1200 px poster prints sharp up to about A5 at full quality and acceptably at A4.
- Say “do not resize the QR out of proportion”.
Final proof check
Scan the printer’s proof, not only your screen file. Colour shifts in print can reduce contrast, which is why the code itself always stays dark ink on white in our designs.
What to Write on Your Review QR Poster: English, Telugu, Hindi and Urdu
Your words should do two jobs: say what the code does, and invite an honest opinion. Avoid anything that asks for a rating (“give us 5 stars”), promises a reward, or suggests only happy customers should review. These lines are the ones built into the generator.
How was your visit? Share your experience on Google. Scan with your phone camera. It takes about 30 seconds.
Mee experience ela undi? Google lo mee honest review share cheyandi. Scan cheste chaalu, 30 seconds.
What staff can say at the counter
“Thank you for coming. If you have a minute, this code opens our Google review page. Your honest feedback helps other people find us.”
“వచ్చినందుకు ధన్యవాదాలు. మీకు ఒక నిమిషం ఉంటే, ఈ కోడ్ స్కాన్ చేసి Google లో మీ నిజమైన అభిప్రాయం చెప్పండి.”
Say it once, then step back. Watching the customer type, or asking them to show the posted review, counts as pressure. For WhatsApp, SMS and email scripts in five languages, and a message builder that checks your wording, see our guide on asking for Google reviews.
Google Review Rules in 2026: What Your QR Code Campaign Can and Cannot Do
Google’s Maps user-contributed content policy and its Business Profile help pages set the rules below. They apply whether you use a QR code, a link, a card or a conversation.
| Practice | Status | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Display a review QR at the counter, on bills, in emails | Allowed | Google’s help page recommends receipts, emails, chats and in-store display. |
| Ask every customer the same way | Allowed | Consistent, neutral invitations are the safe approach. |
| Reply to all reviews, including negative ones | Encouraged | Keep replies polite, specific and free of offers. |
| Discount, freebie, cashback or lucky draw for a review | Not allowed | Google calls this fake engagement. |
| Showing the QR only to happy customers, or a rating screen before Google | Not allowed | Selectively asking for positive reviews is prohibited. |
| Asking for 5 stars or specific words | Not allowed | Google says not to request specific content. |
| Asking customers to mention a staff member by name | Not allowed | Also covered by the specific-content rule. |
| Review targets or quotas for staff | Not allowed | Google prohibits asking staff to collect a set number of reviews. |
| Pressuring customers to post while in the shop | Not allowed | Displaying the QR is fine; standing over them is not. |
| Staff, family or agencies posting reviews | Not allowed | Conflict of interest and fake reviews; also a legal risk in India. |
What happens if a business breaks the rules
Google removes content that violates its policy. For fake engagement it can also restrict the Business Profile for a period it decides case by case: blocking new reviews, unpublishing existing reviews, and showing customers a warning that fake reviews were removed. The business can appeal, but the damage to trust during that time is real. A few extra reviews are never worth that risk.
The masked QR and review gating trap
Indian law also applies
- Consumer Protection Act, 2019: fake or paid reviews presented as genuine can be treated as misleading, and the Central Consumer Protection Authority can act on unfair trade practices.
- BIS standard IS 19000:2022 on online consumer reviews sets out principles for collecting and publishing reviews honestly, including not buying reviews and disclosing any link between the reviewer and the business.
- DPDP Act, 2023: if you collect customers’ phone numbers to send review requests on WhatsApp or SMS, collect them for a stated purpose and let people opt out.
This is general guidance, not legal advice. Check with your adviser for anything specific to your business.
QR Code vs NFC Card vs WhatsApp Link: Which Gets More Google Reviews?
They are not rivals. The QR code catches customers while they are in front of you; the WhatsApp or SMS link catches those who left in a hurry. Most Hyderabad businesses that grow reviews steadily use a counter QR plus a follow-up message.
| Method | Cost | Works on | Best for | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Printed QR code | Almost free to ₹700 | Any smartphone camera | Counters, tables, bills, doors | Needs a scan; fails if too small or glossy |
| NFC tap card or stand | ₹500–₹1,500 | Most phones with NFC turned on | Premium counters, salons, clinics | A few phones have NFC off; costs more; must be tapped at close range |
| WhatsApp message with link | Free (app) or per message (API) | Everyone on WhatsApp | After delivery, service or appointment | Needs the customer’s number and consent |
| SMS with link | Paise per SMS + DLT registration | Every phone | Clinics, service centres, B2B | TRAI DLT templates and URL whitelisting needed |
| Email with link | Free | Customers with email | B2B, hotels, e-commerce | Lower open rates for local retail |
If you send review requests at scale through the WhatsApp Business Platform, the message category and cost matter. Our WhatsApp marketing services page explains templates, rates and the rules for Indian businesses.
How to Turn QR Scans into More Google Reviews (Without Breaking Rules)
Timing beats design
Ask when the good part of the experience has just happened: the bill after a good meal, the report handed over, the bike returned washed. Customers who are still waiting or unsure rarely review, and asking too early feels pushy.
Make it effortless
- Place the QR within arm’s reach at the point of payment, at eye level, with good light.
- Keep the counter free of three other QR codes competing for attention.
- For customers without mobile data, keep shop Wi-Fi open to customers, but never let staff post reviews from that Wi-Fi or shop phones.
- Follow up once by WhatsApp for customers who said “later”. One reminder is enough.
Keep the pace steady
Twenty reviews in one afternoon after months of silence looks unusual and some may be held back. A steady flow each week looks natural, keeps your profile fresh, and gives future customers recent opinions to read. Our review gap calculator works out how many asks per week you need to reach your target.
How to track whether your QR code is working
Google does not report how many people scanned your review QR. Three practical ways to measure:
- Count reviews per month in your Business Profile before and after you put up the QR. This is the number that matters.
- Use your own short link such as
yourwebsite.com/reviewthat redirects straight to your Google review link. Your website host or link tool can count visits, and if your review link ever changes you update the redirect instead of reprinting. Never add a question or rating step in between. - Use different short links per placement (counter, table tent, bill) if you want to know which spot works best.
Google Review QR Code Not Working? Troubleshooting Table
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| QR opens Google Maps, not the review box | Wrong link inside (Maps share link) | Make a new code with the link from Get more reviews |
| Opens the wrong branch | Link copied from another outlet’s profile | Create one link and code per branch; label each stand |
| Phone does not react to the QR | Too small, glossy, dirty, or cropped border | Reprint larger on matte material with the white border |
| Customer sees a sign-in screen | They are not signed in to Google | Normal; a Google account is required to review |
| Review posted but not visible | Delay or Google’s spam filter | Wait a few days; keep asking steadily; never post for customers |
| QR worked before, now says expired | It was a paid dynamic QR | Replace with a static code or your own redirect |
| Get more reviews button missing | Account is not owner or manager, or profile unverified | Get manager access or finish verification |
| Reviews suddenly disabled on profile | Possible policy restriction | Stop incentives or gating, review your process, appeal through Business Profile support |
Replying to the reviews your QR brings in
Replies show future customers how you treat people. Keep them short, specific and without offers.
Thank you, Priya. Glad the haleem was worth the wait. See you again during Ramzan. – Team Sree Biryani House
ధన్యవాదాలు రవి గారు. మా సేవ మీకు నచ్చినందుకు సంతోషం. మళ్ళీ కలుద్దాం.
Sorry about the 40-minute wait on Saturday, Arjun. That is not the experience we want. Please WhatsApp us on our listed number so the manager can look into it personally.
Do Google Reviews Help in AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT Answers?
Reviews are public text about your business, and they sit on your Business Profile, which Google uses for local results. When someone asks Google’s AI Mode or an AI assistant for “a good family dentist in Kondapur”, the answer is built from sources such as business listings, review themes and websites. A profile with recent, detailed reviews gives those systems more to work with than one with twelve reviews from 2022.
No one can promise an AI mention. What you can do is make your reviews genuine, recent and specific, keep your Business Profile complete, and make sure your website answers the same questions customers ask. Our AI SEO services page covers the rest of that work.
Multi-location businesses and agencies
- Keep a sheet with each branch name, Place ID, review link and the date its QR was printed.
- Label stands with the branch name so staff do not swap them between outlets.
- Use the same wording across branches so reviews are comparable.
- If a branch moves, update its Business Profile address instead of creating a new profile, so its reviews stay with it.

Google Reviews QR Code: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a QR code for my Google reviews?
Open your Google Business Profile on a computer, select Read reviews, then Get more reviews. Google shows a free QR code and a review link. Right-click the QR to save it, or copy the link and paste it into the free generator on this page to get a print-ready poster in English, Telugu, Hindi or Urdu.
Is a Google reviews QR code free?
Yes. Google provides the review link and QR code free to every verified Business Profile owner, and our generator is free with no sign-up and no watermark on the QR. You only pay if you want it printed on a sticker, table tent or acrylic standee.
How do I find my Google review link?
In your Business Profile select Read reviews, then Get more reviews, then Copy. The link usually looks like g.page/r/ followed by a code and /review. You can also build one from your Place ID: search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= followed by the ID.
Can I create a Google review QR code on my phone?
Google currently generates its review QR code only in a computer browser. On a phone, open your profile in Google Search or the Google Maps app, copy the review link from Get more reviews or Ask for reviews, and paste it into the generator on this page. It works in any mobile browser and downloads a PNG.
Does a Google review QR code expire?
No. A static QR code stores the link itself, so it keeps working as long as that link works. Codes stop working only if the business profile is removed or merged, or if you used a paid dynamic QR service that redirects through its own server and your subscription ends.
Can I make a review QR code without a Google Business Profile?
The business has to exist on Google Maps for a review link to work. If it is listed but not claimed, you can still build a link from its Place ID, but claim and verify the profile first so you can reply to reviews and fix wrong details.
Is it allowed to display a Google review QR code in my shop?
Yes. Google itself suggests printing your review QR code for your store, receipts and thank-you emails. What is not allowed is pressuring customers to review while they are on the premises, offering anything in return, or asking only happy customers.
Can I give a discount or gift to customers who scan and review?
No. Google treats any incentive for posting, changing or removing a review as fake engagement. That includes discounts, free desserts, cashback, lucky draws and 'review and get 10% off' posters. Breaking this rule can get reviews removed and new reviews blocked on your profile.
What is review gating and why are masked QR codes risky?
Review gating means asking customers how happy they are first and sending only happy ones to Google. Some 'masked' or 'smart' QR products in India do exactly this. Google's policy prohibits selectively asking for positive reviews, so a gated QR can put your profile at risk. Use one link for everyone.
What size should I print my Google review QR code?
Use at least 1 cm of QR width for every 10 cm of scanning distance. That means 3–5 cm on receipts and business cards, 5–7 cm on counter stands and table tents, about 10 cm on a wall read from 1 m, and 20 cm or more on a door or window.
Why does my review QR code open Google Maps instead of the review box?
The QR contains a Maps share link or a profile link instead of the review link. Create a new code with the link from Get more reviews (g.page/r/…/review) or a writereview?placeid= link. Customers also need to be signed in to a Google account to post.
Can I add my logo to the Google review QR code?
You can place a small logo in the centre if it covers less than about a tenth of the code and you test it on several phones, but it makes scanning slower on budget phones. Our generator puts your name and branding around the code and keeps the QR itself clean, which scans more reliably.
QR code or NFC review card: which is better?
QR codes work on almost every smartphone camera and cost almost nothing to print. NFC cards let customers tap instead of scan, which feels quicker, but a few phones have NFC off and they cost more. Many Hyderabad counters use an acrylic stand with both: tap or scan.
Why are reviews not showing after customers post them?
Google checks reviews before and after publishing, so some are delayed or filtered, especially many reviews from the same place in a short time, reviews from brand-new accounts, or reviews that break policy. Ask steadily instead of in bursts, and never have staff post reviews from shop phones or Wi-Fi.
Can the review poster be in Telugu, Hindi or Urdu?
Yes. The generator on this page creates posters in Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, English, and English with Telugu. The review form itself opens in the language set on the customer's phone, so the poster language only needs to match your customers.
How many Google reviews should a Hyderabad business aim for?
There is no fixed number. Check the top three businesses in your category and area on Google Maps, note their review counts and ratings, and aim to match them with a steady number of new reviews every month. Our asking-for-reviews guide has a calculator that works out the monthly target.
